The Federal Government has strongly condemned the recent attack on worshippers in the Malumfashi local government area of Katsina State, pledging to pursue and bring the perpetrators to justice.
Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, issued a statement denouncing the act as a callous and barbaric assault on innocent citizens peacefully gathered for worship. He assured that security forces are actively pursuing the criminals and that no effort will be spared in ensuring they are apprehended and held accountable.
The Minister conveyed President Bola Tinubu’s deepest condolences to the bereaved families, the people of Malumfashi, and the Katsina State government, emphasizing the government’s solidarity during this difficult time.
Idris highlighted the recent arrest of key leaders from brutal terrorist groups, including Mahmud al-Nigeri of the Mahmuda group and Abu Abba, along with Mahmud Muhammad Usman (Abu Baraa) of the Ansaru group. These individuals were on international wanted lists, and their capture demonstrates the progress of Nigeria’s counter-terrorism efforts. The Minister affirmed President Tinubu’s commitment to eradicating terrorism and ensuring the safety and security of all Nigerians.
