Quick Summary:
Apostle John Okoriko urges Christians to speak positively about Nigeria despite economic and security challenges, stressing the power of words.

Despite the economic downturn and security challenges facing Nigeria, Christians have been urged to speak positive words about the country, as such declarations could bring about lasting transformation.

The admonition came from Apostle John Okoriko, Founder of Solid Rock Kingdom Church, Akwa Ibom State, during the church’s Easter Sunday Interactive Service in Uyo, themed “What You Say, You Become.”

Speaking through the Secretary General of the Church, Dr. Linus Uko Enang, Apostle Okoriko said that speaking positively about the nation does not prevent citizens from constructively criticising government for accountability and good governance.

Power Of Words And Constructive Criticism

Okoriko emphasised the potency of spoken words, warning that negative utterances have consequences not only for individuals but also for families, communities, and the nation.

He cited Genesis 1:2–3, noting that God used words to create the world, and that Jesus Christ also declared His resurrection before it happened.

He added,

Warning Against Negative Confessions

The cleric observed that many marriages, families, and communities have suffered due to unguarded and negative speech, urging Nigerians to stop confessing negativity about the nation.

He warned that such utterances de-market Nigeria and bring misfortune to its people.

Recalling the biblical story of the two thieves crucified with Jesus, Okoriko said their words determined their eternal destinies, illustrating the spiritual weight of speech.

Encouragement To The Youth

Apostle Okoriko also encouraged Nigerian youths not to be discouraged by economic hardship or societal issues, urging them to maintain positive confessions and trust that God will make a way.

He reaffirmed that faith-filled words can shape outcomes and inspire hope, calling on believers to speak life and progress over Nigeria.
