ADC chieftain Dr. Ladan Salihu urges politicians, including Peter Obi and others, to formalise membership as the party prepares for the 2027 elections.
A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dr. Ladan Salihu, has explained why the party is insisting that individuals seeking to join its fold must formalise their membership without delay.
Speaking on Prime Time, a programme on Arise Television on Friday, Salihu stressed that the ADC does not have the luxury of time as the 2027 general elections draw closer.
Not Directed at Peter Obi Alone
Salihu clarified that the directive was not targeted solely at Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 elections, but applies to all political figures and members of other parties who may wish to align with the ADC.
Call for Commitment
The ADC chieftain emphasized that the party must avoid complacency and instead focus on building a clear direction and strategy to win the trust of Nigerians.
Outlook
The ADC has recently positioned itself as a coalition platform for opposition figures ahead of 2027, with growing interest from political heavyweights. Salihu’s remarks underscore the party’s determination to consolidate its ranks early and present itself as a credible alternative in Nigeria’s political landscape.
