Afrobeats icon Ayodeji Balogun, renowned as Wizkid, has achieved a remarkable milestone by breaking the record for the largest opening day streams on Spotify Nigeria. His latest single, ‘Kese (Dance)’, has surpassed previous records, amassing an impressive 1.57 million streams within just one day.

This achievement eclipses the former record held by Wizkid’s collaborative R&B track with American artist Brent Faiyaz, ‘Piece Of My Heart’, which garnered 1.016 million streams upon its release. Furthermore, ‘Kese (Dance)’ also made history as the African song with the highest opening day streams globally, reaching a staggering 2.753 million streams.

‘Kese’ serves as one of the lead singles from Wizkid’s eagerly awaited upcoming album, ‘Morayo’, set to debut later this month. The album is not merely a musical endeavor; it is a heartfelt tribute to his late mother, Mrs. Morayo Jane Balogun, highlighting the personal significance of this project for the esteemed artist.

As Wizkid continues to redefine the musical landscape with his innovative sound and deep emotional connections, fans eagerly anticipate the full experience that ‘Morayo’ promises to deliver.
