Following the recent US-brokered ceasefire agreements with Ukraine and Russia in the Black Sea, Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced on Wednesday that the United States will assess demands made by Moscow. These agreements, reached after talks in Saudi Arabia, aim to ensure safe navigation and prevent hostile actions in the region.

According to Secretary Rubio, Russia has presented a list of conditions for upholding the agreement, which US officials will now analyze. These conditions, as outlined by the Kremlin, reportedly include the lifting of certain restrictions and sanctions on Russian agricultural entities and vessels, mirroring demands previously made during negotiations regarding the earlier Black Sea Grain Initiative.

The US government will subsequently present its findings to President Trump and determine the appropriate course of action. This evaluation marks a crucial step in navigating the complex geopolitical landscape following the US-led rapprochement with Russia and the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, which began in February 2022.
