Ukraine drone strike targets Russian oil depot.
On Wednesday, Veniamin Kondratyev, the governor of Russia’s Krasnodar region, reported that a drone attack attributed to Ukraine ignited a fire at an oil depot. This incident underscores the ongoing tensions and hostilities between the two nations.
In a related development, Ukrainian officials have noted a significant increase in inquiries from Russian families regarding missing soldiers. This surge, which has been observed since the launch of a hotline in January 2024, suggests substantial losses for Russia on the battlefield. According to reports, over 60,000 requests for information on missing troops have been received, with estimates indicating that the actual number of missing soldiers could be two to three times higher, as many families have yet to reach out.
Among the inquiries processed, it has been confirmed that 1,790 Russian soldiers are currently in Ukrainian captivity, with 408 of these individuals having been exchanged. These developments reflect the ongoing complexities of the conflict and the profound impact it has on both military personnel and their families.
