Tragic Loss: Femi Fani-Kayode Announces Passing of Longtime Assistant

The recent announcement of the passing of Ndifreke Saviour Mark, the long-serving special assistant to former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode, has drawn deep sorrow from those who knew him. Mark, who dedicated 34 years of his life to serving Fani-Kayode, tragically slumped and died in a hotel on Sunday, October 13, 2024, in the Garki area of Abuja.

Fani-Kayode shared the somber details of the incident via social media, revealing that Mark had left home early that morning to attend Mass at the Catholic Church of Assumption before checking into Mildy Lodge and Apartments. According to reports, he was accompanied by an undisclosed individual when he suddenly collapsed. Despite immediate efforts to revive him, Mark was pronounced dead upon arrival at Asokoro District Hospital.

In response to this unforeseen tragedy, the Nigerian police have initiated an investigation, taking into custody both the individual present at the time of Mark’s death and the hotel receptionist. Fani-Kayode has emphasized the necessity of a thorough inquiry and autopsy to determine the circumstances surrounding Mark’s untimely demise, ensuring that any potential foul play is addressed.

The former minister expressed heartfelt condolences to Mark’s family, particularly to his wife, Barrister Patience Ndifreke-Mark, and his uncle, Mr. Clement Mathias. He described Mark as not only a devoted aide but also a cherished friend and confidant whose absence has left an indelible void.
