Tinubu is set to travel to South Africa for a Nigeria-South Africa bi-national meeting.
President Bola Tinubu will spearhead Nigeria’s delegation to the forthcoming 11th session of the Nigeria-South Africa Bi-National Commission (BNC), scheduled to take place in Cape Town from 28 November to 3 December. This significant diplomatic engagement aims to foster collaboration between the two nations on a myriad of issues pivotal to their socio-economic development.
The meeting will unfold in several phases: beginning with the Senior Officials Meeting (SOM) from 28 to 30 November, followed by a Ministerial Meeting on 2 December, and culminating in a presidential meeting on 3 December. As articulated by Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, Acting Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, these discussions will serve as a platform to elevate Africa’s standing in global politics through collaborative frameworks.
Critical topics on the agenda include security, education, health, and cultural exchange, reflecting the multifaceted partnership between Nigeria and South Africa. Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, will also accompany the delegation, underscoring the importance of this initiative at various levels of governance.
Established to enhance cooperation in defense, technology, culture, and energy, the BNC is poised to strengthen bilateral relations and facilitate consultations on economic and investment opportunities.
