Recent Air Strikes by the Nigeria Air Force Eliminated 70 Terrorists in Borno State and dismantle 83 illegal Refining Operations.

In a notable operation on November 6, 2023, the Nigeria Air Force (NAF) conducted air raids on Kwallaram and Arianna Ciki islands in Borno State, resulting in the elimination of at least 70 terrorists. Major General Edward Buba, the Director of Defence Media Operations, reported these successful strikes, emphasizing the effectiveness of the armed forces in combating terrorism within the region.

Further detailing the recent activities of the armed forces, Major General Buba highlighted that over the past week, a total of 169 terrorists were neutralized, alongside the apprehension of 641 criminals nationwide. The operation also led to the recovery of an impressive cache of armaments, including 192 high-caliber weapons and nearly 3,000 rounds of various ammunition types. This substantial recovery underscores the ongoing efforts to dismantle the operational capabilities of terrorist factions and bolster national security.

In addition to counter-terrorism efforts, the armed forces have made significant strides in addressing illegal activities in the Niger Delta region. General Buba reported the destruction of 83 illegal refining sites and the arrest of 40 individuals involved in oil theft. Noteworthy recoveries include over 914,000 liters of stolen crude, alongside significant quantities of diesel and petrol.

The recovery efforts also encompassed a variety of equipment associated with illegal refining, demonstrating the multifaceted approach of the Nigeria Armed Forces in tackling not only insecurity but also economic sabotage.
