Ogun State Ministry for Women Affairs and Social Development: A Commitment to Empowering Women and Protecting Children.

In a recent gathering in Abeokuta, the Ogun State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Adijat Adeleye, reaffirmed the ministry’s dedication to enhancing the welfare of women and children. Following a 3-in-1 programme that included an annual lecture, an award ceremony, and a New Year party, Adeleye expressed her commitment to empowering women, safeguarding children, and fostering inclusive social development.

Adeleye urged ministry personnel to elevate their performance standards and actively contribute to reforms designed to protect vulnerable groups. “Together, we will continue to break barriers, champion social development, and uplift the lives of women and children across Ogun State,” she proclaimed. As the state approaches 2025, the Commissioner emphasized a renewed commitment to the ministry’s mission and underscored the importance of transformative efforts in the coming year.

During the event, former Head of Service Selimot Otun highlighted the essential role of social workers in strengthening societal cohesion. She challenged ministry workers to strive for excellence, indicating that improved service delivery is key to effecting positive change within communities.

In a parallel lecture, Mr. Jola Oyeneye, the Permanent Secretary of the Bureau of Public Service Reforms, encouraged creativity and innovation within the public service sector. He emphasized the importance of leveraging technology and collaboration to enhance service delivery.

As the event concluded, accolades were presented to outstanding ministry employees to recognize their contributions, reinforcing that their accomplishments serve not just personal gain but the broader mission of uplifting Ogun State and its citizens. The ministry’s pledge to advance the empowerment of women and children remains a cornerstone of its operations, with significant efforts anticipated as it heads into 2025.
