Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun Signs N1.054 Trillion 2025 Appropriation Bill into Law.
On Monday, Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State officially signed the N1.054 trillion 2025 State Appropriation Bill into law during a ceremony at the Governor’s Office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta. The event was attended by notable figures, including the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Oludaisi Elemide, the Deputy Governor, principal officers of the House, and members of the State Executive Council.
Following the signing, Governor Abiodun announced forthcoming initiatives aimed at enhancing the state’s economic landscape. He emphasized the imminent signing of a partnership agreement for the development of the Olokola Sea Port, a project he described as “back on track.” The governor also expressed his administration’s commitment to improving basic infrastructure and fostering collaborations with private entities in sectors such as renewable energy and agriculture.
Governor Abiodun outlined a vision for Ogun State that includes significant investments in infrastructure, particularly in road development across all local governments. He reiterated the administration’s dedication to providing conducive learning environments for students and advancing healthcare programs at all levels. Additionally, he highlighted the state’s agricultural ambitions, particularly in animal husbandry, aiming for both domestic consumption and export.
In his remarks, Abiodun acknowledged the challenges faced by citizens due to the bold reforms introduced by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration. He assured the public that his government is actively working to mitigate these challenges through necessary palliatives.
The Speaker of the House, Oludaisi Elemide, commended the swift passage of the Appropriation Bill, noting that it marked a historic achievement as no budget bill had been passed before Christmas in previous years. He affirmed the Assembly’s commitment to collaborating with the executive branch to ensure that the citizens of Ogun State reap the benefits of democracy.
