Nasarawa Police Strengthen Community Relations with National Police Day Initiatives.

In commemoration of National Police Day, the Nasarawa State Police Command has launched a series of community-focused initiatives designed to foster stronger relationships and enhance public safety. Following the directive of the Inspector General of Police, the program includes a free medical outreach and sensitization campaign.

Observed annually on April 7th, National Police Day acknowledges the dedication and sacrifices of police officers, while honoring fallen heroes. This year’s observance includes free medical consultations, treatment for common ailments, and preventative measures such as vaccinations and deworming for children.

According to SP Ramhan Nansel, the command’s Public Relations Officer, the activities commenced at the Police Officers’ Mess, Jos Road, Lafia, with the medical outreach scheduled for April 2nd and 3rd, 2025.

Beyond the medical outreach, the Command has planned stakeholder engagements, environmental sanitation campaigns, and awareness programs aimed at combating cultism and other social vices. Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, encourages public participation, emphasizing that robust police-community partnerships are crucial for a safer Nasarawa State.
