NAFDAC Leverages Technology in Fight Against Counterfeit Products.
The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) is reinforcing its commitment to combatting substandard and falsified products through technological advancements. Director General, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, emphasized this commitment during a sensitization workshop held in Awka, Anambra State.
Represented by Mr. Gbenga Fajemirokun, the Director General highlighted the importance of equipping stakeholders with the knowledge to utilize innovative tools. The workshop focused on three key initiatives: the NAFDAC Greenbook, Traceability Regulation 2024, and Paediatric Regulation 2024.
These initiatives leverage technology to empower consumers in identifying authentic products. The Greenbook serves as an online resource for verifying product origins, while the Traceability Regulation 2024 establishes a legal framework for tracking products throughout the supply chain. The Paediatric Regulation 2024 specifically addresses the unique needs of children’s health.
By embracing these technologies, NAFDAC aims to foster collaboration between regulators and stakeholders in the fight against counterfeit medical products, ultimately safeguarding public health.
