Kwara State Revokes 2024 Signage and Billboard Licenses.

The Kwara State Government has announced the immediate revocation of all 2024 signage and billboard licenses across the state. This decision, communicated via a statement released Sunday by the Chairman of the Kwara State Taskforce Committee on Illegal Billboards and Signages and Commissioner for Communications, Bolanle Olukoju, is intended to facilitate the removal of unauthorized and improperly erected advertising structures.

The revocation aligns with Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s Urban Renewal Programme, aimed at modernizing Kwara State and improving its visual appeal. Consequently, the processing of new registrations and renewals of signage and billboard licenses is suspended until further notice, pending the finalization of a new regulatory framework for outdoor advertising.

Billboard owners with unidentified structures are urged to remove them immediately. Enforcement of the revocation order will commence next week, with the state’s taskforce actively identifying non-compliant structures.
