Kanu Case Reassigned: A New Chapter in Legal Proceedings.
The legal saga surrounding Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has entered a new phase with the official reassignment of his case to a different judge. This development was confirmed by Kanu’s lead counsel, Aloy Ejimakor, who revealed the legal team received official notification regarding the reassignment.
According to Ejimakor, the Chief Justice of Nigeria responded to a request for administrative intervention following the previous judge’s recusal. A subsequent letter from the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court officially informed the legal team of the case reassignment.
Kanu, through his legal team, expressed gratitude for the decision and reiterated his readiness for trial. Ejimakor emphasized that Kanu is confident in his innocence and has consistently sought a fair and speedy hearing, a process which faced impediments following the recusal of the previous judge. The focus now shifts to mounting a vigorous defense, ensuring due process is upheld throughout the proceedings.
