ISWAP Fighters Neutralized in Yobe State Clash.

Reports indicate a significant engagement between Nigerian troops and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) insurgents in Buni Gari, Yobe State, on the night of March 16th. According to intelligence provided by Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency expert, at least seven ISWAP fighters were reportedly killed during the confrontation.
The insurgents launched an attack on the town, prompting a swift response from Sector 2, Operation Fansan Yanma, supported by local Yobe State hunters. An hour-long gun battle ensued, ultimately resulting in the insurgents being overpowered.
While the insurgents managed to recover some casualties, the engagement resulted in the neutralization of several ISWAP combatants. Regrettably, a vigilante member assisting in the defense of the town succumbed to gunshot wounds sustained during the clash. Authorities are likely conducting further assessments of the situation in the aftermath of this engagement.
