The International Aviation College (IAC) in Ilorin, Kwara State, recently celebrated the graduation of 19 student pilots. Notably, this cohort included 10 members of the Nigerian Army, representing the highest number of military personnel to graduate from the institution in its history.

Speaking at the ceremony, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq emphasized the importance of sustained perseverance, discipline, and teamwork for the graduating pilots. Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, representing the Chief of Army Staff, highlighted the training’s significance in bolstering the Nigerian Army Aviation’s operational capabilities.

IAC Rector Captain Yakubu Okahtai stated that the Private Pilot License (PPL) acquired by the graduates provides a crucial foundation for advanced aviation training and enhances the Army’s air mobility and reconnaissance. He further acknowledged the invaluable partnership between the Kwara State Government and the Nigerian Army in facilitating the success of the program. Since March 2022, the current IAC management has overseen the graduation of 62 students.
