Governor Dauda Lawal Approves 13th-Month Salary for Zamfara State Workers.
In a significant move to enhance the welfare of civil and public servants, Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has approved the payment of a 13th-month salary. This decision was formally communicated through a circular issued by the office of the Zamfara State Head of Service on December 28, 2024.
The circular states that all civil and public servants, including retirees, will receive a bonus equivalent to 30 percent of their basic salary as the 13th-month payment. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to empower workers and stimulate economic growth within the state, as highlighted by the governor’s spokesman, Sulaiman Bala Idris.
In addition to the 13th-month salary, the state government has made significant strides in improving worker welfare. It has cleared over N10 billion in outstanding gratuities accumulated over the past 11 years and has approved a new minimum wage of N70,000. Furthermore, the administration has prioritized the timely payment of salaries, ensuring that workers receive their dues without delay.
This proactive approach reflects Governor Lawal’s commitment to enhancing the living standards of Zamfara State’s workforce and promoting a more robust economic environment.
