FIFA Announces Lucrative Prize Pot for 2025 Club World Cup.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino has confirmed a potential windfall for the victors of the expanded 2025 Club World Cup, stating the winning team could earn up to $125 million. This announcement comes on the heels of FIFA’s unveiling of a $1 billion total prize purse for the tournament, to be hosted in the United States from June 14 to July 13.
Approximately half of the $1 billion will be distributed amongst the 32 participating clubs, differentiated by sporting and commercial metrics, favoring larger, more established clubs. The remaining $475 million is designated for performance-based rewards, incentivizing victories throughout the tournament’s seven potential matches. The team demonstrating the highest level of success on the pitch stands to gain the maximum $125 million reward, highlighting the substantial financial incentives at stake in this revamped competition.
