Enugu NUJ Commits to Transparent Elections, Thanks National Leadership.
The Enugu State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has pledged to conduct a free and fair election to establish a new, substantive executive. This commitment follows an expression of gratitude to NUJ National President, Comrade Alhassan Yahaya, for his acceptance of the Caretaker Committee currently overseeing the Enugu State Council, headed by Lady Agatha Agu.
In a letter addressed to the National President and signed by chairpersons and secretaries of various chapels, the State Executive Committee (SEC) emphasized the sense of relief and renewed hope fostered by the national leadership’s support. The SEC further committed to collaborating with the national secretariat to achieve the NUJ’s objectives, underscoring the importance of transparency and accountability in all dealings. The promised transparent election aims to strengthen the Union and foster the growth of journalism within Enugu State.
