Edo State Governor-elect Appoints Fred Itua as Chief Press Secretary.

In a significant move ahead of his inauguration, Edo State Governor-elect, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has announced the appointment of Fred Itua as Chief Press Secretary for the incoming administration. This decision, revealed in Abuja by the governor-elect’s media team, marks Okpebholo’s first official appointment, taking place just one day before the scheduled handover from outgoing Governor Godwin Obaseki.

Fred Itua, an accomplished journalist with experience at prominent publications such as Leadership and The Sun newspapers, will spearhead the Governor’s media team. His academic credentials are noteworthy, holding a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, and a Master’s degree in Media Arts from the University of Abuja. Itua is also nearing the completion of his PhD thesis in Development Communication at Veritas University, Abuja.

With a robust background in covering critical areas such as the National Assembly, migration, health, anti-corruption initiatives, and environmental issues, Itua brings valuable insight into both national and international affairs. His dedication to lifelong learning and expertise in cross-cultural collaboration position him as a highly adaptable leader, prepared to innovate and excel in diverse environments.
