Condolence Visit by Nigeria’s First Lady to Lagbaja’s family

In a poignant demonstration of solidarity and compassion, Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, undertook a condolence visit to the family of the late Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Taoreed Lagbaja. Accompanied by Hajia Nana Shettima, the wife of the Vice President, and Hajia Ribadu, the wife of the National Security Adviser, the delegation aimed to extend heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family.

Upon arrival, the First Lady and her companions were graciously received by Mrs. Oghogho Musa, the wife of the Chief of Defence Staff. During the visit, Senator Tinubu offered comforting words to Mrs. Mariya Abiodun Lagbaja and her children. She reflected on the inevitability of death, reminding them that it is the Lord who determines the time of one’s passing.

In her message of solace, the First Lady urged the family to draw strength from the rich legacy left behind by Lt General Lagbaja. She encouraged the children to remain steadfast in pursuing the ideals for which their father stood, emphasizing the importance of continuing his noble pursuits.

Lt General Taoreed Lagbaja passed away at the age of 56 after a period of illness, leaving behind a legacy that will be remembered for its dedication to service and leadership. Senator Tinubu’s visit serves as a reminder of the collective mourning and support that the nation extends to the families of its fallen heroes.
