In a significant development in the ongoing saga between Cardi B and Tasha K, a judge has formalized a repayment plan wherein Tasha K, a media personality and YouTuber, will pay the renowned rapper a total of $1.2 million in monthly installments over the next five years. This ruling stems from a larger $4 million defamation judgment awarded to Cardi B in 2022, which was the result of Tasha K’s unfounded claims alleging that the rapper had engaged in illegal activities and worked as a prostitute.

The finalized repayment plan, announced by Rolling Stone on February 24, does not encompass the full amount of the judgment; however, Cardi B retains the right to pursue the remaining balance after the five-year period concludes. Additionally, Tasha K has committed to abstaining from making any derogatory, disparaging, or defamatory remarks about Cardi or her family across all platforms, including her podcast and social media channels. Notably, this agreement does not restrict Cardi B from expressing her views about Tasha K.

This case highlights the increasing scrutiny surrounding public figures’ responsibilities in the dissemination of information and the effects of defamation. As the music industry continues to embrace digital platforms, this ruling serves as a precedent for those affected by false allegations in the public sphere.
